The Conglomerate of Hardonii is a huge, efficient nation, renowned for its closed borders, ubiquitous missile silos, and free-roaming dinosaurs. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 714 million Workers are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.
The enormous, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Xan. The average income tax rate is 89.6%, and even higher for the wealthy.
The all-consuming Hardoniian economy, worth 82.6 trillion Dahls a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing and Information Technology. Average income is an impressive 115,732 Dahls, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.
Bands of paramedics walk the streets looking for suspicious medical activity, the government baselessly accuses foreign dignitaries of being assassins, historical commemorations regularly devolve into militaristic jingoism, and the nation's orphanages and maternity wards have been nicknamed 'the Killbot Factories'. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Hardonii's national animal is the Iron Beetle, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
